A new computer center

The PA under Mahmud Abbas opened – with money from the west – a new computer center. As usual, the center was names after a famous person. The Palestinians decided to name it after Dalal Mughrabi.
But who was Dalal Mughrabi?
Dalal Mughrabi lived from 1959 to 1978.  In 1978 – together with 10 Palestinians – she landed at Israels coast. First they murdered an American photographer, then kidnapped a cab, after murdering the passengers. Later they kidnapped to busses and eventually murdered the passengers. All together they killed 37 people (among them 10 children).

For many Palestinians – and for the PA – these makes her a hero whose name should be the name of a public institution.

There is already a Mughrabi school in Hebron and in Gaza. Also summer camps and military or police courses are used bear her name.
